How to Stabilize a Video Clip in the Color Page
Method 1: Perspective Stabilizer
This method works well when you don’t have any moving objects in your scene.
- Open your clip in the color page.
- Go to the tracker panel and change it to the stabilizer menu by default.
- Set the strength to 0.25 and the method to perspective. Most of the times, perspective will work fine.
- If you want your shot to be completely steady, check the camera lock box. If you want to have a bit of smooth motion in your shots, leave it unchecked.
- Hit the stabilize button and let the AI do the work for you.
Method 2: Classic Stabilizer
This method works well when you have a moving object in your scene that you want to keep in the frame.
- Open your clip in the color page.
- Go to the tracker panel and change it to the stabilizer menu by default.
- Go to the three dots in the upper corner of the tracker window and open the menu. Select the classic stabilizer.
- Uncheck any parameter that you don’t want to stabilize, such as zoom, rotation, or tilt.
- Increase the strength to the maximum and activate the interactive mode.
- Select the insert all drawer box around the part where you have your moving object and hit the delete button. This will tell the AI to ignore the moving object and focus on the background.
- Hit the track forward button and wait for the tracking to finish.
- Press the stabilize button and you are ready.
